TEENAGE star golfer Emma Opio hopes to put up a sterling performance at the Tororo Open today so that he can qualify for the Uganda Open.

Opio (h/c8) hopes he can have his handicap cut down to five to be able to compete in the Uganda Open due September 14-17. The prestigious Uganda Open is limited to players below handicap six.

“I will do my best in the Tororo Open to reduce my handicap as much as possible because time is running out,” Opio,15, said.

Opio (above), a son of legendary golfer Sadi Onito, will hope to emulate his late father and brother Charles Yokwe, who featured prominently in the Uganda Open.

“Since I am on holiday, I have enough time to train for the Uganda Open. I hope to perform well.”
