UNITED States-based Ugandan former International Boxing Federation (IBF) world champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma has sent his wife and three-year-old son to his homeland.

Cassie Jamison Ouma dressed in Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma’s T-shirt and son Oundo touched down at Entebbe International Airport at 8:15pm on Tuesday and were received by Ouma’s former army (UPDF) coach Kent Kibirige Musa and a number of relatives.

American-born Cassie showed appreciation for the big welcome she received at the airport. “Its great meeting the family of Kassim and coming to Uganda my first time in life” said a smiling Cassie.

Happiness exuded the air as little Oundo hugged his nine-year-old brother Umar Ojambo, auntie Joan Makokha and uncle Solo Oundo.
“We are driving straight to Ouma’s grandmother Maria Wandera’s residence in eastern Uganda.

Cassie wants to stay with the old lady — widow of Ouma’s late father Ben Oundo. It is there where the family wants to spend their holiday,” said Kent, before they left for Magamaga, east of Jinja.

“The Dream” Ouma deserted Uganda Peoples Defense Forces in 1998 while in the US for military games, preferring professional boxing. He is yet to be pardoned by the UPDF.
