John Ken Lukyamuzi, the Conservative Party (CP) president has said he can only join the Movement when he is dead.
He added that even though he is out of parliament, he cannot risk destroying his name by joining the NRM.
Lukyamuzi said, “I am in court today to fight for the freedom I have been denied constitutionally through the NRM misrule. How can I join those who have crucified me politically?”
The former Rubaga South MP was reacting to a Sunday Vision gossip article that he was dating NRM and that he had been sighted near the party headquarters on Kyaddondo road and moving in Nakasero probably heading for State house to meet President Yoweri Museveni.
Lukyamuzi stated, “I have no interest in meeting the president and that doesn’t mean that I don’t respect him. If I were to meet him, I would have done so when the IGG unceremoniously expelled me from parliament on allegations of breaching the Leadership Code.”
Adding, “If I am to meet him (Museveni), I would be requesting him to reserve Mabira forest reserve because his endeavour to donate it is unconstitutional and negates several international environmental protocols to which Uganda is a party.”
