With the visitors leading the basketball tie in the second quarter at the Makerere pool court, the umpires called for an end of play due to insuffient light after a tightly contested first quarter that had seen the hosts get an edge.

Makerere had earlier lost in volleyball (men category) 3-1 to a lethal performance from UCU, who only lost one set 25-16 and won the rest 23-25 20-25 24-25.

Paul Wabwose was the star for the visitors whose all-round performance propelled the side to victory in the fourth and final set.
