MOSES Kipsiro’s double medal haul at the just concluded Africa Senior Athletics Championships has led to his being voted the sportsman of the month of August.
At the monthly meeting at National Theatre yesterday, Kipsiro’s gold medal over the 10000m distance and bronze in 5000m at the Mauritius event saw him get 355 points. He beat Rugby Cranes player Allan Musoke (260) and URA’s David Kalungi (245) to second and third position for the monthly performance.
Musoke was outstanding in Uganda’s tie against Kenya in the Elgon Cup while Kalungi scored important goals for league champions URA.
After commendations, USPA announced September 30 as date for the annual gala to crown the 2005 personalities.
