Tashobya lifts Warriors past Rhinos

AMBROSE Tashobya sunk one-of-two free throws with six seconds of play left to give Kyambogo Warriors a narrow 61-60 victory over Charging Rhinos in an MTN basketball league game on Sunday at the YMCA court, Wandegeya.

AMBROSE Tashobya sunk one-of-two free throws with six seconds of play left to give Kyambogo Warriors a narrow 61-60 victory over Charging Rhinos in an MTN basketball league game on Sunday at the YMCA court, Wandegeya.
Gloria Kyomugisha reports that after a see-saw first half in which the teams tied three times, Warriors broke away through Stephen Okias and Ronnie Kasewu who scored 30 and 16 points respectively to take a 52-45 third quarter lead.
But Rhinos regained their focus narrowed the gap to 60-58 with two minutes of play left.
The black and white suited Rhinos continued to mount pressure until Tashobya was fouled by Ochola on a rebound. He went to the charity line and nailed one free-throw to seal victory for Warriors.
