THE ethics ministry is investigating the project in Mukono where a Danish artist is giving villagers a pig or a goat on condition that they adopt his name, reports Anne Mugisa.

Over 300 residents of Buteyongera village in Kasana parish, Kasawo sub-county, Nakifuma have adopted the name Hornsleth, after the donor, Kristian von Hornsleth.

Ethics minister Dr. Nsaba Buturo (above) said yesterday he had sent officers to talk to the local leadership and the beneficiaries about the project. “It is a matter of concern. This is a new form of development aid. Nobody should play on the needy situation of our people,” Buturo said.

Hornsleth was invited to the area by Eng. Ssenabulya Kateregga, according to the project coordinator, Henry Hornsleth Kayondo. Kateregga, who talked to the New Vision from Denmark, said yesterday the project was intended to address poverty in his village.
