Kole MP John Ogwang Beridwogo has denied rumours that President Yoweri Museveni intends to grab Baralegi land in Okwang sub-county, Lira district, reports Patrick Okino.
Ogwang said Museveni requested the community of baralegi to allow him continue camping there to oversee the security situation in the area.
He urged the Langi to unite with the president to bring peace in the area, adding that people should not hate minister Daniel Omara Atubo for working with the NRM.
Ogwang, a Uganda People’s Congress diehard, asked Lango MPs to forget their political differences and focus on developmental issues.
Ogwang denied reports that he warned Atubo not to use his ministerial post to grab or give out Langi land, saying it was aimed at causing hatred between him and Atubo.
“This report was not true. I remember very well that I told people of Lango to unite with Atubo and the government to bring development like in other regions,” Ogwang said on Wednesday.
