MOSES Aduni struck in the 73rd minute to give Express a narrow but crucial lead in their Kakungulu Cup semi-final contest against Victors.
The stout striker beat goalkeeper Mohamed Moshi with a powerful shot and made Victors, who had dominated the game on a soggy Nakivubo pitch, pay for many earlier missed chances.
Strikers Ronald Lutaya and Grace Magoola on several occasions pinned the Wankulukuku side but always lacked the killer punch.
In today’s game, Geoffrey Wakaza’s attacking influence will contribute heavily in determining the outcome of the two-leg semi-final between Simba and Maji.
Abrasive yet creative, a relatively predictable character and yet a scorer of great goals, Wakaza has re-emerged as Simba’s key central attacking figure.
He answered the call in Simba’s decisive games with the four goals that helped his side to a 4-2 quarter-final aggregate win over URA FC.
“After struggling with an injury for quite a long time, he is finally playing very well. I hope he continues to concentrate because we need him again,†Simba coach Moses Basena said.
