ANTHONY Bongole will be expected to make his limited but invaluable experience with the senior national soccer side count in today’s semi-final against Tanzania.

The KCC FC striker will spearhead the Uganda Hippos’ attack at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura.

Bongole, with a goal already on his account in the youth event, will alongside Yuda Mugalu, offer the required ammunition needed to beat Tanzania’s back four. Mugalu and midfielder Manko Kaweesa are the tournament’s lead scorers with four goals apiece.

Tournament hosts Burundi who came second in Group A after a narrow 1-0 win over Somalia, face Kenya tomorrow.

* Preparations for Uganda’s next Nations Cup match against Niger on October 7 will cost sh90m.
FUFA vice chairman Jowali Kyeyago said they are yet to secure the funds. Foreign-based players’ travel alone will take sh40m of this figure.

Ethiopia based linkman Asan Bajope and Robert Sejjemba who plays in the US have been called.

“Our target is to pull off an away win. We can only do that by having all our best players in Niamey,” said Kyeyago.

The Cranes regroup today at Namboole after they started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Lesotho that put them top of Group 3, ahead of Nigeria.
