THERE is an opportunity for fashion fads and frugal families to restock, switch-dressing trends and change their entire wardrobes. This weekend go to Game and Woolworths multinational stores to acquire trendy outfits a half their previous prices.

Michael Kiwagama of the Lugogo Game stores says they are currently clearing their stock on clothes with up to a 70% discount on prices. They sell clothes for children, women and men.

Kiwagama says men can get khaki shorts and trousers, jeans, T-shirts and tracksuits at low prices. And the women can also buy stretch trousers and swimming costumes. There are also shorts ad T-shirts for children.

Kiwagama says a pair of trousers, which used to cost sh50,000 now costs as low as sh12,000. Most of them trousers now cost between sh5,000 and sh15, 000.
The prices have been cut for the past six weeks and it is expected to continue for two or three weeks. The new prices are valid while stock still lasts.

In Woolworths, items on discount, include kids’ T-shirts whose prices have dripped from sh14,000 to sh6,000; ladies’ shoes from sh94,000 to sh38,000 and formal trousers from sh73,000 to sh27,000. Other ladies’ items include bras from sh36,000 to sh14,000 and skirts from sh55,000 to sh22,000.

Prices for men’s shorts have also dropped from sh57,000 to sh22,000 and curtain rods from sh30,000 to sh10,000. The discount on other items including hand bags varies between 50%-60%.

Ntanda Male, the sales floor manager of Woolworths, says “it is part of the Woolworths way of doing things where at certain intervals we cut prices, depending on the condition of the existing stock and the new arrivals.”

Selling at a discount, which they started in august, will end when they get new stock.
