Children who break the law are called juvenile delinquents or young offenders. They break the law through fighting, stealing, killing, raping and disobeying lawful orders. The young offenders are not imprisoned with adult criminals but they are kept in a remand home.

Naguru Childrens’ Remand Home in Kampala is one of the remand homes in the country.

The child offenders at Naguru are encouraged and helped to change their behaviour through counselling.
Everyday, the children pray and on Sundays, the word of God is preached to them.

Last Saturday, pastor George Oduch of Victory Christian Church Ministries, Luzira and his Sunday school drama group of 98 children visited the children’s home.

During prayers, Oduch told the young offenders that God had a purpose for all of them. He then invited the drama group to perform. The children sang about the love of God.

Oduch told the young offenders that all people live under the power of sin, but if we accept Jesus, His power helps us to stop sinning.

During the sermon, 49 young offenders accepted Jesus Christ.

The pastor donated laundry soap, Christian reading material and 200 New Testament Bibles to the children.
