UNICEF has given CARITAS Lira sh500m to fight against malaria and to prevent HIV/AIDS infection among pregnant mothers, children and the youth in the internally displaced people’s (IDP) camps in Lango region, writes <b>James Oloch.</b>

UNICEF has given CARITAS Lira sh500m to fight against malaria and to prevent HIV/AIDS infection among pregnant mothers, children and the youth in the internally displaced people’s (IDP) camps in Lango region, writes James Oloch.
CARITAS Lira project coordinator Beatrice Achiro said the project was being piloted in IDP camps that include Agweng and Aromo in Erute county, Aliwang and Adwari in Otuke county and Omoro in Moroto county, Lira district.
She said in Oyam district, the project was being implemented in Otwal Railway camp, Anyomoloyec, Acokara, and Ader in Otwal sub-county and Aloni in Iceme sub-county.
Achiro was speaking at the distribution of mosquito nets to IDPs at Aliwang in Otuke on Friday.
She said the project intended to strengthen prevention of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted illnesses.
