Oryem hails Saudi relations

Foreign affairs State minister Henry Okello Oryem has said Uganda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia share common views in the fight against terrorism.

Foreign affairs State minister Henry Okello Oryem has said Uganda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia share common views in the fight against terrorism.
He made the remarks at the celebrations of the 76th anniversary on the national day of Saudi Arabia at Hotel Africana, Kampala on Thursday.
Oryem said, “Uganda believes in granting the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the quest for a just and comprehensive settlement to the situation in the Middle East.”
He applauded Saudi Arabia for according protection and support to Ugandan pilgrims who travel to Mecca.
“We are so grateful for the generosity manifested by the people of Saudi Arabia in offering scholarships to Ugandans to study in various fields,” Oryem said.
Ahmed Al-Mowallad, the Charge d’Affaires of Saudi Arabia Embassy, said the kingdom has always advocated justice and transparency in international relations.
“We denounce violence and all acts that may undermine international peace and security. We refute the use of force in pursuing international relations as a tool of implementing foreign policy,” he said.
