ALL roads this Saturday lead to Sacred Heart Rubaga Cathedral for the installation of Cyprian Kizito Lwanga as the fourth Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese.

Josephine Maseruka reports that Lwanga, 53, who had been the first Bishop of Kasana – Luweero since 1997, was last month appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to replace Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, 79, as Kampala Archbishop.

Thousands of people, including Vice-President Gilbert Bukenya – who will represent the Government – Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi and religious leaders from all denominations, will attend the occasion.

The 10:00am mass will be preceded by a liturgical procession from the archbishop’s residence at Rubaga to the cathedral. Lwanga will be installed by Wamala, assisted by the Pope’s Nuncio, Archbishop Christophee Pierre.

Lwanga, a professor of canon Law, served in the archdiocese as its Vicar General in 1990.
