US soccer officials Curt Onalfo and Tiffany Roberts are in Uganda for a series of clinics.

US soccer officials Curt Onalfo and Tiffany Roberts are in Uganda for a series of clinics, reports Norman Katende.

The duo, here courtesy of the US Soccer and state department, held clinics in Masaka yesterday and continue today in Kampala and Jinja tomorrow.

Roberts, the 1996 US Olympic football tournament winning team member and assistant national coach Onalfo will meet St Mary’s Kitende, Old Kampala, Makerere advanced and Lubiri at different sessions today. They will also host national and university teams from Nkumba, Makerere, Ndejje and KIU at Makerere.

They will be hosted to a party at Hotel Africana before they head to Jinja. Other US stars have been to Bahrain, South Africa and Nigeria creating friendship.
Ugandans Memory Nampijja and Henry Tumwesigye visited the US this year on a similar programme.

    ALYSHA Nakimbugwe was crowned the best striker in the women football Independence gala at Nakivubo Monday.
    The KCC Women Club striker scored eight goals in the one-day gala that attracted clubs from Uganda and Kenya.
