A Kampala City Council Football Club meeting to plan players’ transfers that start on Monday, ended prematurely when the fans stormed out in protest.
The Thursday meeting presided over by fans chairman Livingstone Mulindwa at Lugogo, was intended to raise funds for the transfer exercise. KCC’s executive is inactive.
Fans learnt that Anthony Bongole and Hamis Kitagenda are asking for sh2m plots of land and sh1m respectively to stay at Lugogo or move on.
But the fans failed to agree on how to retain or acquire new players. Mulindwa told the fans they needed sh50m to clear arrears before venturing into the market.
He said that KCC FC interim chairman Godfrey Kisekka was only ready to surrender sh6m.
Kampala mayor Hajji Nasser Sebaggala is also yet to deliver the sh5m he promised last month.
“I was left in dilemma when I learnt that the mayor had left for Umra (Mecca). He has continued to be uneasy every time I go to his office about the club,” Mulindwa said.
Another fan Godfrey Nyakana is busy organising his trip to China, while life member John Mutenda is in London. Fans opposed a suggestion to ask tycoon Moses Kalungi for any help.
