OLIVE Kigongo has retained presidency of the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI), writes James Odomel.

Kigongo was elected unopposed at the just-concluded annual delegates conference at Ankrah Foundation in Mukono.

She took over the presidency in 2001 from Bonny Katatumba and has three vice presidents; Kassim Omar, Sam Engola and John Kaganzi.

Kigongo said UNCCI’s mission is to strengthen the private sector through effective business representation and advocacy.

She said, “We have already talked to development partners like the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

"Capacity building is one of the components for which we have developed a strategic plan to train leaders. This will put them in a position to give quality services.”
