WILSON Kipkemei’s road running credentials will be tested in the 10km event of the MTN Kampala Marathon on Sunday.
The national 20km champion and fourth in the World event last month, is busy undergoing high altitude training in a bid to defend the title he won last year. A cash prize of sh1.4m awaits the winner of the event
But beyond his defence will be the hurdle of taking on four on-form renowned runners, who are also camped in Bukwo.
Martin Toroitich, James Kibet, Benjamin Kiplagat and Moses Kipsiro are in high gear here training.
“It will surely be a tough competition. I will watch by the roadside as they tussle it out,” said Malinga, the Arua athletic club team captain, who oversees the training.
It is not yet clear whether Dorcus Inzikuru, who entered the 10km event, will take part since she is still training in Italy.
