PAM Awards left some questions unanswered

SIR — It completely beats my understanding how Messach Ssemakula was made Best Male Artiste and Bobi Wine the Artiste of The Year.

May be the organisers intend to balance the awards among the artistes, but it makes no sense. What does it mean for Jose Chameleone to win the best Afro beat artiste award and yet the Afro beat song belongs to some one else? What then is it that qualified him for the award? It is also irrational to convince the nation that Paul Kafeero has not got the Kadongokamu award for three years and get it clear that he is second best to nobody.
I also came to agree that none of the upcoming artistes dances as well as Phina Mugerwa, but with singing, this is not true.
If the awards are dubbed the Pearl of Africa Music Awards, what is there in the song “Fire Anthem” that depicts and manifests Uganda as the Pearl of Africa?
The language, lyrics, style, video are all neo colonial.
I think the PAM Awards are directed towards the creation of a balance between the artistes who overwhelmed the organisers, but not the best getting what they deserve.
