“What a major guzzle!” was probably the most frequent comment at Eriya Sebunya Bugembe a.k.a Kasiwukira’s wedding reception Hotel Africana on Saturday.

And after 20 years of sharing his life with his wife Sarah Nabikolo, it was a well deserved celebration.

After exchanging vows before the Rt. Rev Bishop Samuel Ssekadde at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe, the half kilometre entourage of sleek cars (each cost at least sh100m) cruising through town was a sight to reckon with.

If the artistes’ performances, was anything to go by, then Kasiwukira is a respected music distributor.

Mesach Semakula thanked God for the auspicious occasion while Ragga Dee’s comic antics spiced the occasion attended by people with a “serious” approach to life.

Juliana Kanyomozi’s performance just before the cutting of the cake was emotionally charged.
The Kwagalana Union, to which the groom belongs, rewarded some of its members and the groom rewarded his best man, Godfrey Kirumira.

Others awarded for supporting the organisation included Andrew Kasagga a.k.a Zimmwe, Ibrahim Muwanga Kibirige, Meddie Sebagala of Sebagala and Sons, Ange Noir’s Charlie Lubega, Ntake Bakery’s Guster Lule, Hajji City Tyres’ Ahmed Mandela, Mutaasa Kafeero and Charles Kakumba.

The colourful function was attended by gender minister Syda Bbumba, Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Naggayi Sempala and MP Latif Sebagala and former Army Commander General James Kazini.

If this is not the wedding of the year, which was rumoured to have set Bugembe back sh300m, which one is?
