From Kamwenge district, the buzz is that youthful Kibaale County MP Frank Tumwebaze has joined the ever-growing class of media proprietors.

He has just opened a new radio station, Rwenzori (89.9) FM, which is broadcasting from Western Uganda.

Mbu Tumwebaze conceived the dream of a radio station after clashing, on occasions, with Kitagwenda County MP Nuru Byamukama, who owns WEBS FM Endigyito. Tumwebaze alleges that Byamukama, for reasons, always denied Tumwebaze a chance to be hosted on Endigyito.

But with Byamukama having shifted his studio to Mbarara town shortly before the general elections earlier this year, Rwenzori FM has come in to fill the vacuum.
