JUSTICE George Kanyeihamba of the supreme court has said NRM secretary general Amama Mbabazi is fit to replace president Yoweri Museveni.

JUSTICE George Kanyeihamba of the supreme court has said NRM secretary general Amama Mbabazi is fit to replace president Yoweri Museveni.

Darious Magara quotes Kanyeihamba as saying that Mbabazi had served the country in many fields, which had proved his capacity to lead the nation.

“I have moved and worked for this country, especially when I was a minister of commerce but Amama is next to me in having made several trips.

“Mbabazi is a diligent servant who has worked hard for this nation as a patriot and would be best suited to replace Museveni,” the judge said.

Kanyeihamba, who bought Museveni’s portrait at sh1.7m at the Silver Jubilee celebrations for Nyaruhanga high school on Friday, praised Museveni for his leadership that has transformed Uganda.
Mbabazi, who was the chief guest at the function, did not comment on the matter.

But Rubanda West MP Henry Banyezanki excited the crowd when he introduced Mbabazi as the next president. He said Mbabazi was very close to the presidency, considering his position in the NRM party and his responsibilities in the Government.

A total of sh17m was raised in cash and pledges to rehabilitate and expand the Kanyeihamba hostel.
