KYENJOJO district officers on Thursday failed to account for sh100m, reports Paul Kiwuuwa.

The chief administrative officer, Muhenda Rujumba, the chief financial officer, Julius Kamanyire and senior accountant Alfred Kahawa failed to produce vouchers for sh100m advanced to the district staff in the 2000/1 financial year.

The Parliament local government accounts committee chaired by David Ringe Chan (Padyere) also surcharged the officers sh1m for failure to recover the money.

Chan said, “Sh1m should be deducted from the salaries of Muhenda, Kamanyire and Kahawa for neglect of duty.”

The MPs also queried the shortfall of local revenue of sh535m, suspecting that revenue collectors and sub-county chiefs misappropriated the money
