KAMPALA
Wava Broadcasting Service (WBS) has sued city mayor Alhaji Nasser Sebaggala at Nakawa Court for refusing to pay sh3.4m. WBS, through Mukwatanise and Company Advocates, on Thursday said Sebaggala asked them to air his campaigns on television from November 14 to November 27, 2005 for sh4.5m but he only paid sh1.1m.

Municipality MP Sanjay Tanna has asked the Court of Appeal to dismiss a notice of appeal filed by his opponent, Apollo Yeri Ofwono, saying he lodged it after the stipulated seven days from the judgement date. Tanna toppled Ofwono in the February 23 elections. Tanna’s lawyers said Ofwono had no sound explanation for delaying to file the notice.

Hearing set

The hearing of an election petition filed by former Kyaddondo East MP William Sitenda-Sebalu seeking to unseat Sam Njuba, has been set for Monday. Assistant High Court Registrar John Arutu, on Thursday allowed Sebalu to serve Njuba with a hearing notice.
