ROCKY Giant’s efforts on his debut eight-track album titled Rafiki won him two PAM Award nods in the Best Hip-Hop Single and Best Hip-Hop Artiste categories this year. And although he walked away empty-handed, Rocky Giant is still ranked among local Hip-Hop’s elites.

ROCKY Giant’s efforts on his debut eight-track album titled Rafiki won him two PAM Award nods in the Best Hip-Hop Single and Best Hip-Hop Artiste categories this year. And although he walked away empty-handed, Rocky Giant is still ranked among local Hip-Hop’s elites.

The title track Rafiki, was the main reason for Rocky Giant’s two PAM Award nods. On Rafiki, the budding rapper delivers complicated rhymes while still sounding conversational. His songs are just as witty as you can imagine. Infact, Rocky Giant should be enjoying a rapt and ever-growing fan base by now.

Rafiki is set be released on a XYZ Records label, arriving music stores on Monday, December 4.

Rafiki features production talents of Alan Okia of D Records, Geoffrey, Aydee & Pato (the Ngoni duo) of Goodenuff Studios. On the lead single, Rocky Giant discusses friendship in the modern day society. He delivers rapid-fire rap and it is this song coupled with his electrifying stage performance that has won Rocky Giant scores of fans.

On Gwabalaasi, Rocky Giant glides into the reggae genre and the song is currently a hit in Kampala. It was recorded and produced by Allan Okia of the Nakasero-based D Records. In Nikifika, he boasts of storming the Ugandan music scene with his own unique style. Nani Wuyo, Chini Yawulinzi, Sitabadilika and Bla Bla are the other songs on the album.

Rocky Giant made himself a household name after he imported Bongo Flava, a music style of Tanzanian origin and today, he makes an excellent rapper and performer fascinating his fans.
