FUFA has moved to identify land for a technical centre once FIFA provides funding under the Goal Project II next year.

FUFA CEO Charles Masembe said that the federation was looking for land around Kampala to build the complex.

He could not say how much FUFA needed for the project although they are required to send details of what they expected by December 15.

He said that the federation was inspired by FIFA’s officer in charge of the project in Africa Ashford Mamelodi. He visited Kampala early last month.

“He was extremely happy and he repeated the same words he mentioned to me here when we met again in Namibia last week. I visited a massive technical centre in Namibia and I was mesmerised,” Masembe said.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa said that the complex would house a youth centre and a national teams’ facility.
