KAMPALA, its suburbs and many
other areas in Uganda are awash
with buildings in dire need of a
coat of paint. To avoid repainting premises every now and then one should go for long-lasting paint.

Regal Paints, a product of Crown Buildings and Products (CBPL), is one such kind of paint that stands the test of time. Located on Plot 85, Sixth Street Industrial Area, CBPL is a group company of Crown Berger, Kenya.

“We have silk vinyl emulsion, matt vinyl emulsion, high cover undercoat, super cover gloss, woodseal polyurethane varnish, two pack polyurethane varnish and weather shield among others,” said Amol Joshi, the general manager.

The paint available ranges from quarter litre to 20 litre tins for both buildings and vehicles. Joshi asserted that they could mix specific colours on request using modern computerised mixers.

“We have various guarantees ranging from 4-6 years while others range between 8-25 years. Why would you repaint your house or building after only three years yet you could do it after 20 years?” he asks.

Through the company’s research and development wing, a number of good products have been made including those that retard dust, resist algae and mould growth.

The company has been operating in Kenya since 1956 and has branches in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania and recently in Southern Sudan.
