The Democratic revolutionary Assembly (DRA) has been launched. Its president, Moses Nuwagaba, claims to have defected from National Resistance Movement party, accusing it of corruption. He said DRA’s vision was to create a stable, united and developed country. He asked that the Constitution be amended to severely punish those convicted of corruption.

Most foreigners are issued visas without filling application forms, MPs heard yesterday. Ministry of Internal Affairs permanent secretary Stephen Kagoda told MPs that the forms were not issued due to delays in processing. Kagoda had appeared before the committee to answer queries raised in the Auditor General’s report.
