CONTROVERSY has arisen over Moses Muwanguzi, who claims to be the son of Pastor David Kiganda.

A married couple asserts that Muwanguzi is their biological son.
Isaac Mpawulo and his wife Grace Namaganda of Najjera Kaddu zone, Kira sub-county in Wakiso claim that Muwanguzi is their second born child in a family of five children.

To prove their point, Mpawulo yesterday displayed to journalists at Tourist Hotel in Kampala over 30 family photographs taken together with Muwanguzi, as evidence that he is the father of Muwanguzi.

Mpawulo appealed to the Government and the Police to arrest and reprimand Muwanguzi, whom he said was not only a threat to the family but also the general public.

“I am worried as a parent that is why I want the law to take its course. If he can lie that Kiganda is his father, then he is capable of pinning me or anybody of any criminal offence. Such acts are of terrorists,” he asserted.

Mpawulo was flanked by his wife, his mother Erivanson Nanozi and two of his children.

“I have referred to him as a terrorist because he is a liar. I have all his records right from childhood. We’re the rightful parents of Muwnguzi. If anybody thinks that my evidence is wrong, then the son can bring his or we go for a DNA test,” Mpawulo charged.

Muwanguzi this week claimed that Kiganda was his father but had disowned him because he had converted to Islam.

But Mpawulo said his son disappeared from home in 2004 and he later heard that he was with a group of Tabliqs.

Mpawulo said his son only resurfaced last weekend to join the family when he (Mpawulo) was exchanging marriage vows with their mother.

“He told me that he was staying in Iganga with a one Ale Karim. He left Karim’s mobile number 0712-250510. He asked me for transport and I gave him sh5,000,” Mpawula explained, adding that Muwanguzi was born on May 30, 1987 at Mengo Hospital.

Namaganda said, “As a mother my heart is bleeding with pain to see my son behaving in such a manner. I feel wounded.”
