DORCUS Inzikuru failed to finish the Iris Lotto IAAF Cross Country Permit race in Brussels after she lost a shoe in mud on Sunday.

DORCUS Inzikuru failed to finish the Iris Lotto IAAF Cross Country Permit race in Brussels after she lost a shoe in mud on Sunday.
The incident forced Inzikuru, sponsored by Adidas, to run with one bare foot, decreasing her pace, before eventually bowing out of the event.
The Ugandan ace opened up a considerable lead against Hungarian Aniko Kalovics in the only IAAF permit meet of the month but had to retire because she could not continue with only one shoe.
The Arua Gazelle left Ethiopian Teyiba Erkesso, who was the only one who could put up an honourable chase, to win the race in a time of 21 minutes and 37 seconds.
The World and Commonwealth 3000m steeplechase champion was gunning for her fourth consecutive win this season.
