THE High Court Registrar, Masalu Museene, has stopped a local businessman from taking over Iganga Town council primary school, reports Daniel Saire.

Hajji Saidi Edhiruma allegedly bought the biggest government-aided school in Iganga located on a 11.7acre piece of land, at sh45m from the custodian board.
The school, which has 2,300 pupils, was originally owned by Asians.

The district leaders, led by the LC5 chairman, Assuman Kyafu, petitioned the Attorney General and the finance ministry, opposing the sale.

The Director of Civil Litigation, Joseph Matsiko, filled a civil suit against Edhiruma and got a 90-day court injunction stopping him from taking over the school.
State minister for finance Fred Omach in a letter, informed Edhiruma that the school was fraudulently sold.
