KAMPALA City Council Football Club has bagged sh27.7m from the sale of striker Robert Ssentongo hardly two months at Lugogo.

Ssentongo has signed for Denmark’s Vejlby Risskov Sports Centre.
The 23-year old Uganda Cranes player, who moved from SC Villa in November, secured the deal through former coach Jan Frey.

The striker, who has scored in three of his club’s four league matches, will leave for Denmark early next month.

“This is small money but bigger than what clubs have got for (Denis) Onyango, (David) Obua and even (Geoffrey) Sserunkuuma. We are happy,” club secretary Richard Omongole said.

Recently, the local soccer governing body blocked Tom Ssemwogerere’s transfer to Rwandan side ATRACO claiming transfers will only be done mid-season or at the end of the season.

Frey said that Ssentongo will be put in an academy for six to 12 months before he could be sold to a European club he did not name.
