Elders beg

DESTITUTE elders from IDP camps in Gulu and Pader districts have flooded Gulu town searching for food in dustbins and begging money.
District rehabilitation officer Bernard Ocen said on Wednesday the elders believed NGOs would help them in the town.


Man arrested
JINJA — A passenger was on Tuesday arrested over refusing to use a seat belt. The deputy traffic chief, Andrew Lobongore, said Said Sajjabi would soon appear before court. He is the first victim in the district to suffer the wrath of the new law.

Pact signed
BUSIA — lumiino farmers will be trained by a local NGO, Friends of christ revival missionaries (FOC-REV), which cares and treats people living with HIV/AIDS. The group recently signed a sh3m agreement with the district NAADS office to build farmers’ capacity.
