NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) has warned Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) returning officer David Agong against defying their directives not to hear petitions and hold by-elections for FUFA delegates.

NCS has rejected and declared results of the by -elections held in Mengo on Monday ‘null and void’.

In a protest letter to the Football Association, NCS acting general secretary Jasper Aligawesa said that state minister for sports Henry Okello Oryem had ‘directed’ him to disregard the results and subsequently warned the defiant Agong.

“All elections that might have taken place on January 10 and thereafter are NULL and VOID. Government will not hesitate to take further action if my directive is not respected,” Aligawesa said.

He said that the Council would only respect the outcome of earlier results conducted at the various district destinations and not the petitions and by-elections conducted by Agong at FUFA headquarters.

“Agong is returning officer for the general assembly. If someone has problems he should go and petition at the district. We only want petitions directed at district levels,” Aligawesa added.
