THE UN child agency UNICEF has distributed emergency relief items to 800 Parabongo camp households.

THE UN child agency UNICEF has distributed emergency relief items to 800 Parabongo camp households, writes Chris Ochowun.

The Unicef head of the Gulu zonal office, Rebecca Symington, on Friday said they donated the items to victims whose huts got burnt recently.

“We first carried out registration and assessment of the affected households before distributing the items. We have always responded to disaster,” Symington said.

She said they gave out soap, plates and cups, saucepans, basins, tarpaulins and clothes.

She said the International Committee of the Red Cross donated 310 tarpaulins to the victims through Unicef.
