NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) has rejected FUFA’s proposal to recall ‘dropped’ Rubaga football delegate Dennis Mbidde in order to suppress wrangles between the federation, council and minister Okello Oryem.

NCS acting general secretary Jasper Aligawesa said that the idea was aimed at diverting genuine efforts to redirect FUFA and returning officer David Agong.

He disclosed that FUFA general secretary Haruna Mawanda had earlier called him to say that they could recall Mbidde to avoid clashes with NCS and Oryem who have questioned Agong’s legitimacy to hear petitions of elections he did not preside over.

“Our focus is on all the petitions and not Mbidde in particular. We are saying all the decisions be taken in considerations,” Aligawesa said.

Mawanda slightly deferred saying that he had called Aligawesa to propose a meeting to iron the existing differences.

“I told him the matter was just hyped in the press yet it was a small issue. I told him it is a matter of all the parties sitting and finding a general solution. We can’t fight government,” Mawanda said.
Mbidde was not amused by the twists in Agong’s decisions to ‘fire’ him.

“Agong did not fire me. I don’t think he has the powers to fire me. And if there were a gathering of delegates now I would still go and attend it, Mbidde said yesterday.
