Lonrho Motors has supplied six Yamaha patrol motorcycles to the Police, reports Mikaili Sseppuya.
Lonrho officials said the motorcycles, whose maximum speed is 240 kph, are used by most countries.
They were handed to the Police’s mechanical section chief, Maurice Tibareka, for audit before being taken to the workshop for trials.
The acting Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety, Wilson Ahimbisibwe, said when the 900-litre machines are properly deployed, they would be enough for the city traffic work.
Joseph Tinkasimire Lonrho’s sales manager said the motorcycles were the latest model.
