Four UBL teams for Charity

UGANDA Breweries Limited (UBL) has fielded four teams in the fourth edition of the Bell Lager Novice Charity Golf tournament at the par-72 Kitante course today.

UGANDA Breweries Limited (UBL) has fielded four teams in the fourth edition of the Bell Lager Novice Charity Golf tournament at the par-72 Kitante course today.
UBL has the highest number of teams in the tournament organised to raise funds for Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO). Thirty-six teams drawn from various corporations will compete in the one-day competition that tees off at 12.30pm.
In the previous edition of the competition, sh24m was raised for UWESO.
-A hundred players have already registered for the inaugural Celtel January Mug at Uganda Golf Club (UGC) on Saturday.
UGC captain Daniel Kagwe said the number of competitors is expected to shoot up to 150 players.
The event, that has been fired up by a one-year Celtel sponsorship, will see competitors battle for mugs in various categories at the Kitante course.
Winners in the men’s group A (h/c-0-9), group B (h/c10-18) and group C (h/c19-28) and women’s group A (h/c-0-16) and group B (17-40) will be rewarded with mugs.
“The ones who win mugs qualify for the Mug of Mugs event at the end of the year,†Kagwe said.
