SEVEN MPs have been sued for failure to repay loans. Moneylenders Kenroy Investments Limited is seeking to recover the money with interest and costs of the case.

SEVEN MPs have been sued for failure to repay loans. Moneylenders Kenroy Investments Limited is seeking to recover the money with interest and costs of the case.

Former MP Manzi Tumubweine owns the money lending company.
The reported indebted MPs are Aruu’s Odonga Otto, Bugabula North’s Francis Mukama, Arua Municiality’s Saidi Okuti and Buliisa’s Nyendwoha Mutiti.

Others are Bokoroa’s Patrick Apuuni, Kwania’s Anang Odur and Upe’s Micah Lolem.

Papers indicate that Lolem owes sh7.9m he borrowed between June 30 and September 16, 2003.
Lolem’s case was filed with the Commercial Court on Monday.
Odonga is accused of failure to repay sh391,000.

Apuuni reportedly owes sh460,000. Mukama and Okuti reportedly owe sh5m between themselves while Nyendwoha owes sh540,000.

Mukama said he had not been served with case papers while Nyendwoha said, “I am taking the money any time.”

Okuti, Odonga, Lolem, Apuuni and Anang could not be reached for comment.
