NATIONAL coach Henry Okecho has called upon bowlers to be more aggressive and effective ahead of the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2007 World Cup qualifiers set for Ireland in July.

The national team play yet another trial match at Lugogo today with the bowlers targeted to show some improvement in their antics.

The bowlers have so far tried in vein to be on top of the batsmen who have always won the matches in the last three trial games.

“We are aiming at producing a fairly balanced side. The bowlers are trying their best but more is still expected from them,” Okecho said.

National captain Junior Kwebiiha, opener Emmanuel Issaneez and Charles Waiswa would all have to put their heads together for a plot against charging batsmen Frank Nsubuga, Nand Kishor, Benjamin Musoke and Keith Legesi.

The bowlers are expected to improve on their bowling run-ups alongside their line and length if they are to dominate the day.

Richard Okia, currently sitting for his exams at Makerere University, will be out of action.

Henry Kato, who has also failed to hit his mark in the past, could rise to the occasion at the grass wicket.
The most feared left arm bowler has not completed any ten-over bowling spell in three past trial matches.
