For fear of HIV/AIDS, which has decimated many a young lives in his village in Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono district, abstinence was Musisi’s byword. This was until he met his fate one night. Musisi was hit by the jackfruit last Saturday, while bathing under the tree in the thick of last night.
The area information secretary, Joseph Manyimatono, said the fruit was brought down by heavy winds, which plucked the fruit from the tree. It hit Musisi right on the head. He died instantly. A postmortem report indicated Musisi suffered serious internal head injuries
“The deceased informed us two weeks ago that he had given up on sex to live for another day. But see what has happened to him,” a visibly shocked Manyimatono said to the mourning crowd before burial.
A good samaritan, who tried to rush Musisi to a clinic, said he will surely miss a man who lived by his word and managed to keep the pleasures of this world at bay.
