A UPDF deserter shot dead a special Police constable and a civilian following an attack on policemen assigned to arrest a defilement suspect at Kapchesombe in Kapchorwa.
The district Police commander, Tomson Ogole, said the incident happened at Kapchesombe in Kaptangya sub-county on Sunday when policemen were deployed to arrest Stephen Matanda.
He said Nakitari Murei shot the policeman to prevent Matanda’s arrest.
