DEMOCRATIC Party (DP) president Paul Ssemogerere and national chairman Boniface Byanyima have applied to defend the Registrar General, Kyomuhendo Bisereko, in a legal battle in which a party faction is seeking to register it.
Ssemogerere, Byanyima, Ssebaana Kizito, the national treasurer and legal advisor John Kawanga want court to let them into the suit filed by Zachary Olum, the DP vice-president and the suspended secretary general, Mariano Drametu.
Joseph balikuddembe, the DP lawyer, on Monday said Ssemogerere and his colleagues should be allowed into the case because they had already filed an application to register the party.
