NILE Breweries has scooped the Employer of the Year 2004 Award, in a survey conducted by Ernst and Young.

NILE Breweries has scooped the Employer of the Year 2004 Award, in a survey conducted by Ernst and Young.

The award, an initiative of the Federation of Uganda Employers, aims at recognising organisations, which have excelled in human resource practices.

Kasese Cobalt Company, the previous winners, took the Silver Award, while finance group, DFCU Limited, scooped the Bronze Award.

The fourth edition of the prestigious award was held at the newly-refurbished Rwenzori Ballroom at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Thursday.

For the first time, ministries were part of the award surveys, with the Ministry of Defence taking the Premier Special Public Service Award, a new innovation.

The Most Improved Human Resource Practices Award went to AAR Health Services for improving most between the previous survey and the just concluded one.

Sugar Corporation of Uganda took the Employee Relations and Welfare Award.
Total Uganda were the most innovative in the previous year, a move that earned them the Special Innovative Human Resource Activities Award.

Standard Chartered Bank won the Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics accolade.
