EGYPTIANS back home will be able to watch Al Ahly after state sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi blocked efforts by SC Villa not to broadcast the game.
SC Villa did not want the MTN Champions League match signal sent back to Cairo, for fear the Egyptians will learn their playing style. Villa also want part of the TV rights cash.
“We agreed in principle that the match will be broadcast live,” said Bakkabulindi yesterday.
Villa president Franco Mugabe, secretary Luyimbazi Mugalu and organising secretary Kevin Aliro met the minister. NCS, in charge of local soccer since FUFA’s executive was suspended, will receive $2500 from the Egyptians.

r MOHAMMED Abbas is tired of eating fish. That is the only diet he can afford after two months without pay.
“Every time I remind National Council of Sports (NCS), they tell me no money, no money. Now I buy fish every day,” said Cranes coach Abbas after training 12 players who turned up yesterday.
Abbas is supposed to get airtime and fuel worth sh20,000 weekly and sh850,000 pocket money every month.
r NCS will invite six professionals for the 2006 World Cup/Nations Cup away qualifier against South Africa.
American based Sulaiman Tenywa, Abubaker Tabula and Francis Gozanga (Rwanda), Nestroy Kizito (Serbia), Ibrahim Sekagya (Argentina) and Timothy Batabaire (South Africa) are being sought by NCS official Charles Masembe.

- The stakeholders’ forum will be opened at Lugogo on Thursday by state sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi.
Up to 200 stakeholders will attend and review the development of the Ugandan game, redefine roles of key stakeholders and effective sports policy, effective administration and consider new business strategies.
