The state minister for primary education, Nyombi Tembo, has said no Movement supporter has been manipulated into supporting a third term for President Yoweri Museveni.

He blasted former local government minister Jaberi Bidandi Ssali for attacking President Museveni and those who want another term for him in office.

Tembo was addressing NRM supporters on Thursday at a party at Tropic Inn Gardens in Masaka town.

It was organised by Uganda Young Movementists to congratulate him upon being appointed minister.

“Who is he to say that those who want a third term for president Museveni were bought?” Nyombi said.

He said those who supported the third term did so because Museveni had performed very well and they wanted him to continue for the good of Uganda.

“Now that Bidandi does not like the third term, should we say he was paid to oppose it?” Tembo asked.

He said Bidandi should stop attacking Museveni and his supporters.

“Bidandi should know that the great dancers of yesterday may not be good today because they might be dancing to old tunes.

“he must allow us the young people to advise him other than thinking he is the master of wisdom,” Tembo said.

He said Bidandi was around in the mid 60s during the Obote regime and later during Amin’s rule but could not write letters in newspapers attacking them yet they abolished the constitutions.

He said it was wrong to claim that Uganda would face a constitutional crisis because the people wanted to change some clauses in the constitution.
