BASKETBALL has pulled out of the inaugural World Islamic Games due to luck of sponsorship.

Football was the first to withdraw when FUFA failed to register the team in time.

Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) treasurer Salim Musoke confirmed the development.

Weightlifting, swimming, table tennis, volleyball and athletics are the disciplines where Uganda will take part.

The games will be hosted by Saudi Arabia April 8-20th.

Meanwhile, Kabojja, King’s college Budo and St Mary’s college Kisubi renew their rivalry when the Sprite schools basketball week qualification battle throws off within Mpigi region today.

The one-day event which is the first on the schools basketball calendar takes place at the Kabojja secondary school courts starting at 9am.
