Nebbi LC5 chairman Esrom William Alenyo has warned headteachers against inciting students into politics.

“You should be very careful. No one should tell students to belong to any political party,” Alenyo said.

He advised headteachers to control the political systems in schools despite their different political affiliations.

Alenyo was speaking to over 30 headteachers in Nebbi district during a meeting at the Teachers Resource Centre last week.

He urged teachers to motivate students to study instead of teaching them “political mathematics that will not benefit them.”

Alenyo said the teachers tend to confuse students by discussing the third term during assemblies, wasting time and hindering their concentration.
