A 27-year-old woman has told the Police that her husband neglected her and her three children for four years.
Scovia Bikuginye of Isingiro village in Bugongi sub-county, Bushenyi district, said Amos Fokwesiza locked her out of his home since 2001.
She said Fokwesiza forced her to leave the home because he wanted to marry a second wife.
“Since 2001, I have been suffering with my children yet I am the official wife. I have failed to get clothing and food for the children,†she told Bushenyi Police on Saturday.
The officer in-charge of the Children Family Protection Unit, Sgt. Margaret Kamiranga, asked local councillors to address the problem.
“We have ordered the LCs to assist her go back to the husband’s home,†Kamiranga said.
Bikuginye said she would camp at the station until her problem was solved.
